My first blog about music was on Blogger, the platform that Google absorbed and offered for free. My blog was called J Be Mad, and its posts are still up, for the time being at least. The Web Sheriff never came in my saloon looking for a showdown but other bloggers were not so lucky. Nowadays if you put a single mp3 file on your music blog that happens to be attached to blogspot.com you may find that you have an inanimate Jimmy Hoffa on your hands.
This article by Jeff Weiss explains the problems many music bloggers are currently facing. Blogger is no longer waiting for you to remove an “illegal” music file from your posts. If you take too long to do the job yourself, say goodbye to the whole thing. So, do what I would do, and what I did: move to WordPress or some other blogging platform. Now.
